Problem
- Seagate SATA 3Gb/s HDD does not detect on the 8VM800PMD775.
- Corsair memory may have some incompatibility problems with the 8VM800PMD775
Reason
- When installing SATA 3Gb/s HDD’s with the 8VM800PMD775 motherboard, the HDD is not detected in the bios from a cold boot.
During a reset, the bios is able to pick up the HDD
When the system is shut down again; the bios will not pick up the HDD.
This seems to be a detection issue with the motherboard and SATA 3Gb/s HDD’s
- Memory compatibility may be related to the timings of certain corsair memory modules that may not be supported by the bios
Solution
The solution to both these problems is to update the bios to version F3b.
The bios update has been mailed to the branches.
