Problem

When using the GA-8TRS350MT with SATA HDD, there is no Hard Drive activity indication on the front panel LED although the Hard Drive LED is functional when using an IDE Hard drive. 

Some customers have been laying blame to a non-functional LED on the front panel of the chassis.  This is not the case. 

Reason

The ATI SB300 south bridge does not include SATA LED support.  This has been identified as a hardware limitation in the SB300 chipset and will not include any future support for the SATA Hard Drive LED activity on new revisions of this motherboard.

Please note that this limitation does not decrease or hamper system performance in anyway.

Solution

If customers prefer having the LED activity indication with the SATA Hard Drive, please advise on a another motherboard with SATA support.  Some customers may need to use the hard drive LED indicator as an important monitoring tool.
