Problem
When installing the software bundled with the DUW-1608/ARR Dual DVD Writer with Windows XP Service Pack 2, some users may experience the following error. |

Explanation
Some Windows applications may experience compatibility issues with Windows XP SP2. In this case the problem is related to the Nero Installer Package.This problem has been found to affect some systems with Windows XP SP2. Please note that not all systems may be affected.
Solution
Please follow these steps only if you are having the above problem…
- Open My Computer from the Desktop
- Right Click on the CDROM with the Nero 6.3.1.17 Installation CD in it and choose “Open”.

3.Then Right Click on the Setup File and choose Properties |

4. You will then see the Propeties Dialogue box with 3 tabs. Choose the “Compatibilty” tab. |

Then follow the next three steps…
5.1. Click on the “RUN THIS PROGRAM IN COMPATIBILITY MODE FOR:” check box and choose “WINDOWS 95” from the drop down Menu5.2. Click “APPLY” button5.3. Click “OK” Button |

Then Eject the disc and load it again. You should be able to install the program normally.
Please note that this not only related to the Aopen DUW1608/ARR ODD, it could affect other products that are bundled with Nero 6.3.1.17 that may be installed on systems with Windows XP SP2. The above solutions will remain the same.
