Problem
After installing the Winfast PVR software and then running the Winfast FM software, an error comes up on the screen “ Leadtek Winfast FM cannot open recording device ”. When the configuration settings are selected, there is no Audio device to be selected in the “Audio Device” drop down menu. This field is blank and does not allow FM Audio to be captured.
Reason
The software that ships with the A180TDH Cinema edition seems to be the incorrect version as it does not allow the audio to be detected. This version is dated version 2.9 and the Leadtek TV2000XP comes with a later version 3.6.
Attempted Solutions
- Tried using software Winfast PVR software from the TV2000XP bundle – Sound is muffled and cannot pick up proper FM or TV signal
- Tried using add on sound card and disabled onboard audio – Device is still absent from Audio device option in the configuration menu.
Solution
Download version Winfast PVR version 4.0 from the following URL.

This version seems to be the latest version and resolves the problem with the Winfast FM software.
We will need to get the Software on CD from Leadtek, depending on our current stock holding, for distribution.
